Onsite Research: Northpoint Underpass Pt.3

So this is during lunch time onwards:
12:00pm
  • not much of a rush hour
12:14pm
  • the uncle selling lottery tickets is still there and so is the uncle selling tissue packs.
  • Mostly students were having lunch.
12:18 - 12:25pm
  • Army officers going for lunch.
  • Still no sign of rush hour.
12:35pm
  • Getting more people going for lunch.
  • Malay auntie selling curry puffs at the underpass talking to her friends passing by.
12:40pm
  • Lottery ticket uncle is having his lunch.
  • Busking uncle playing songs.
  • Children running.
  • ITE students going for lunch.
  • Yet no sign of rush hour.
  • Since it's a friday, families & couples are likely to go out.
12:45pm
  • The underpass starts to get crowded.
  • Secondary students going for lunch.
  • Student also going back home from school.
  • Seems like every 5 mins will have a burst of crowd.

12:55pm

  • Students racing down the stairs.
  • Looks like the traffic is picking up.
  • The busker playing the same song.

12:58pm

  • Alot of ITE student going home or school.
  • Most of the crowd are in a hurry...probably hungry or late for something.
  • Student are always in a hurry.

1:02pm

  • Sudden burst of people.
  • working men and ladies...sometimes students.
  • Busker playing the same song again.

1:05pm

  • Lady from the kiosk throwing a box across the underpass.
  • Students with BBQ stuffs heading up the escalator.
  • Teenagers going school or meeting friends.

1:10pm - 1:35pm

  • The underpass feels quiet with only a few of people walking through.

1:41pm

  • Busker starts a new song.
  • Lottery ticket uncle is still there.
  • Students from primary school going for lunch.
  • Young adults stop by the kiosk to grab 'Newpaper'.
  • Malay auntie is still there selling currypuffs.

1:53pm

  • The place starts to get busy from people going back from the friday's prayers.
  • Students from school.
  • Men going back home after he's done his shift.
  • Sounds of trolley.

2:00pm

  • Currypuff lady finally gets people to buy her currypuffs.
  • Mostly those looking for a quickbite.

2:40pm

  • currypuff lady packing up after selling all her currypuffs.
  • Tissue pack uncle was long gone.
  • Traffic was low at the moment.
  • Occasionally group of students going home.
  • Families finished lunch.
  • Teenagers went out since it's friday.

2:50pm

  • Busker playing still.
  • lesser crowd
  • Most are going out.

3:00pm

  • Do not have that burst of crowd happening.
  • ]Few people coming in and out.
  • Busking performing a chinese song.

3:15pm

  • Followed the crowd from the MRT station.
  • Singing and Strumming of guitar fills the space.

3:30pm

  • Low crowd traffic.

3:48pm

  • Alot of people going out from the way they dressed.

4:00pm

  • Traffic starts picking up.
  • Adults made most of the crowd.
  • Rushing to get home.
4:30pm
  • Can see more people walking past.
  • Getting more noisy due to the footsteps.
  • Also the playing of the busker is getting louder.
  • Now the pace is getting faster.
5:00pm
  • Now the underpass is getting full of people.
  • It's the time for people from work to head back home.
  • Unexpectedly this is the rush hour.
